Built in 1898 by the Barry family during the ostrich feather boom, there has been careful attention to retaining the original features of this Victorian manor.
As one enters the wide passageway through the restored Oak door, high ceilings and wooden floors as well as antique furniture – all beautifully restored - one immediately feels a sense of charm and elegance from a bygone era.
A sparkling pool in a secluded area and a sundeck with loungers offer complete privacy for those laid back afternoons. And for those long twilight evenings, a wraparound covered veranda listening to the trickle of water from the 3 tiered fountain. The surrounding mountains add the perfect backdrop to the lush garden (which is irrigated with lei water). There is secure parking for 12 cars.
In the event of enlarging the premises, there are drafted Architect plans available to build an additional 7 rooms. It would also be possible to build a further 4 suites or offices within the car park without detracting from the façade of the building.
The lodge includes:-
