Dunkeld, one of the oldest suburbs of Johannesburg borders Hyde Park, Illovo, Melrose & Rosebank. It is a mixture of residential & commercial properties with the latter not detracting from the tranquillity of the neighbourhood. Commercial Properties are mostly situated along Oxford Rd, Jan Smuts Ave & Bompas Rd.

This is an elite suburb characterised by its large properties with high walls & wide tree lined streets.  Dunkeld lies between Oxford Rd to the East & Jan Smuts Ave to the West. Oxford Rd & Jan Smuts Ave are both main transport routes from Johannesburg CBD & Sandton. This ensures an easy commute to the main business Hubs of Parktown, Rosebank, Illovo & Sandton. The Gautrain Bus Route with Rosebank Gautrain Station is closely situated to Dunkeld.                                                                              

Dunkeld's location is superb. Excellent Private Schools neighbour the suburb. Bluebird Pre Primary School is situated in Hume Rd & comes highly recommended. Both Wits Campus & UJ are no more than a 20 minute drive.

Living in Dunkeld one is spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping options. Dunkeld West Centre has the renowned Fournos & Fisherman's Deli.  There is also a selection of exclusive Boutiques & other outlets. Hyde Park & Rosebank Mall are easily accessible with Sandton City & Melrose Arch within a15 minute drive.

Fine dining Restaurants are plentiful as are other eateries.  Nearby Parkhurst widens the choices.  Art Lovers have the advantage of many Galleries in neighbouring Rosebank.

There is a beautiful Park in Dunkeld West situated between Hume & Kent Rd. It Is well maintained & is a favourite with Dog Walkers & Children alike.

The Rosebank Bowls Club borders the upper end of the Park. Adjacent to this is the well-maintained Hugh Wyndham Park which has a children's playground and is also popular with dog walkers.                                                                              

Wanderers Main Club & Golf Club are close to the suburb with Houghton, Killarney & Parkview Golf Clubs within easy travel distance.
