Dainfern at a glance
Dainfern is a mature residential development of 1239 houses that was brought to the market in 1991 By Johannesburg Consolidated Investments. Within the borders of the Dainfern Residential Estate and Country Club is a Gary Player, 18 hole Championship Golf Course that hosted the South African Masters Golf Tournament as well as a Sunshine Tour event in 2019.
The Dainfern Residential Estate and Country Club is so much more than a Golf Club. Over the past two decades, the development has become a comprehensive lifestyle estate with soccer, tennis, squash, running and cycling clubs. Other lifestyle options include birdwatching, wine and whisky tasting events as well as a comprehensive Dainfern Wildlife Trust which critically looks at safeguarding all aspects of our sensitive environment across the entire Dainfern Development.
The Dainfern Clubhouse is in the final stages of a major refurbishment of around R 16 000 000 and boasts a Fine Dining, El Fresco, bar area as well as a children's dining facility and playground. All of these flow out onto a massive covered patio boasting breath taking northern views across the Golf Course and river.
State of the art security systems offer residents peace of mind which allows even young children to move freely around the Estate. This has been achieved allowing Dainfern Homeowners to live their lives free from crime and in a peaceful secure environment. All Homeowners and tenants as well as their staff and contractors are carefully screened to ensure that unsavoury elements do not have access to the Dainfern Estate.
Dainfern is situated down the road from the burgeoning Fourways Prescinct which is about to open the first phase of the Fourways Mall. The mature Fourways Development is scheduled to include a massive volume of commercial and retail space and will hopefully soon have connection into the Gautrain network. To the northern side of Dainfern is the Steyn City development. Lanseria International Airport is 10 minutes away from Dainfern and will also be linked via the Gautrain. The William Nicol Drive and Cedar Road upgrades have been completed which has made a massive improvement on access to all parts of Gauteng from Dainfern.
Dainfern College is now 23 years old and offers Dainfern residents the privilege of offering students pedestrian and golf cart access directly into the Dainfern College without having to access the public roadway network. Allowing young children to walk, cycle or travel by golf cart to school is unique in modern day South Africa. Last year, like many preceding years Dainfern College achieve a 100% Matric Pass Rate with many students achieving multiple distinctions. On the sporting front, Dainfern College offers all of the usual sporting codes. Golf is also offered as a competitive sport and Dainfern College has produced many professional golfers and one has gone on to win a European Tour Event. Other than Dainfern College, there are many other private schools nearby. Steyn City, Reddam College, Heronbridge and Crawford College are a few of the private school options nearby and many top government schools are available in the area.
The Dainfern Country Club residents have easy access to major shopping centres from the Montecasino complex, the revamped Fourways Mall, Broadacres Shopping Centre as well as Dainfern Square which include medical services as well as serviced office suites. The Life Hospital in Fourways completes the local medical services offering.
