SHOWING AREA PROFILE 1 OF 1

Bergvliet at a glance

Bergvliet is situated in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town and has well- known suburbs such as Meadowridge, Retreat, Constantia, Kreupelbosch and Heathfield on its boundaries.

One of the reasons for the rising popularity of Bergvliet in property circles is the access it offers to great schools - the likes of Bergvliet High and Primary as well as Sweet Valley Primary School.

Recent sales trends reported by the local Chas Everitt Franchise shows clearly that an increase in demand for residential real estate in this Cape Town suburb combined with a drop in houses up for sale in the area has pushed prices up generously, and the area's "price ceiling" was recently broken with a sale of over R4.6 million concluded by Bergvliet property experts, Cecily Madison and John Pistorius.

2014 has proved to be somewhat of a watershed year for the Bergvliet property market leading to fierce bidding amongst Cape southern suburb purchasers for the limited number of homes appearing on the market.

Demand has in fact led to prices of homes in Bergvliet to push upwards by around twelve per cent in 2013/2014, far outstripping the national mean, and has raised the area profile to be at a very similar level to that of neighbouring lower Constantia.

Key Factors for the increased demand include:

  • Bergvliets family friendly atmosphere
  • Proximity to beaches and forests
  • Proximity to Cape Town Central
  • Top Schools
