The Chas Everitt International property group was the dream-child of founders Charles (Chas) and Tilla Everitt who opened the very first Chas Everitt office in Randburg.

Charles Everitt became Chairman and his son, Charles Beresford [Berry] Everitt was appointed Managing Director of the Chas Everitt International Property Group.

Berry Everitt awarded the Property Professional Club's 'Young Lion' Award.

Chas Everitt relinquished their membership in an American Real Estate Group after having been members for a decade (during which for 8 out of those 10 years, Chas Everitt won every major international real estate award available to their Southern African operations)

Leading real estate franchising figure, Barry Davies, joined the group as a partner and Chas Everitt entered the Southern African Franchising arena. In a short time frame they were joined by a host of like-minded and experienced franchisees across South Africa, opening operations in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu Natal. Berry Everitt awarded the industry’s 'Mover and Shaker' award.

The only independent real estate awards programme, the Property Professional Club, awarded Charles Everitt the very first Lifetime Achievement Award. In the same year Berry Everitt and Franchising CEO Barry Davies were also nominated as two of South Africa's Leading Managers in the publication "South Africa's Leading Managers". Chas Everitt also launched their inaugural Chas Everitt International Convention model in Mauritius rewarding its top performers with International Conventions around the globe, a programme which to this day is the only one in the SA industry of its kind.

Chas Everitt were recognised as one of the Top 5 National Real Estate Agencies in South Africa in an independent survey by a leading business publication - after only 4 years of franchising.

The group grew into the Southern African Market when it opened its Lusaka Franchise in Zambia.

Chas Everitt launched an industry first - the innovative Chas Everitt Notebook© License model designed for niche markets, ideal for top agents, and subsequently increasing the national brand footprint.

Celebrating 30 years, we launched ChasCares, a broad range of community projects building on the successful Home Makeovers projects held in 2008 and 2009 at various Children’s Orphanages.

Chas Everitt invited one of the leading real estate trainers in the USA, Ed Hatch to SA to host personalised Chas Everitt training programmes for its Agents and Management across the country. Despite some of the worst and most trying economic times - the group continued to grow.

Chas Everitt also signed up as a major sponsor for a world record breaking attempt within the Argus Cycle Tour with funds raised going to the "Give Me a Chance" foundation. Chas Everitt was also one of the leading sponsors of the inaugural NBM Sevens Rugby Tournament held in George in the Garden Route which drew top flight international players.

During 2013 the Group spread its footprint into the Northern Cape and Limpopo with offices opening in the likes of Phalaborwa, Hoedspruit, Polokwane and Upington. The group was also joined by established operators in Mpumalanga, Northwest and KZN with Witbank, Vryburg, Kuruman, Kathu and Zinkwazi were added to its "country" presence. The group also added a full blown residential rentals franchise model to its offering in 2013, the Chas Everitt Property Rentals Group.

The Chas Everitt group was invited to become a member of the prestigious 'Leading Real Estate Companies of the World' group and the exclusive Luxury Portfolio international group, which deals with the high-end luxury property segment internationally. These 2 groups give South African sellers the advantage of having their properties exposed to the international market, and also strengthens our referral network globally.

The group got off to a flying start with record-breaking sales registrations in the opening months. Further accolades were earned at the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World conference in Miami when Chas Everitt were nominated in multiple categories and walked away winning the Most Innovative Brokerage in the World out of over 500 global companies in 54 countries. Chas Everitt also received 1st place for Luxury Portfolio Marketing (excellence in luxury real estate marketing) and further awards for global Website Quality Certification and Printed Marketing materials.

Our agents can train from anywhere on any device. Berry Everitt won the President’s Service Award from LeadingRE at the Las Vegas conference and Best LeadingRE Brand award out of 685 companies.

The first of its kind app launched for Chas Everitt agents to do everything through one application from the cell phone, enabling our agents to increase response time and service delivery. Accolades at the LeadingRE Summit includes the International Referral Accelerator Award presented in Athens, Greece

Chas Everitt marked its 40th year by pioneering a fully online, paperless listing and mandate process. The group turned a challenging year into a testament to the brand’s resilience with innovations like the List My Home tool, Agent Connect App, electronic awards, and digital COVID screening.

In 2021, Chas Everitt achieved record national sales and strengthened its digital ecosystem with Everlink agent pages, an RMCP compliance tool, and electronic KYC solutions. The group’s leadership earned industry recognition, while the brand continued supporting South Africans with meaningful property experiences across the country.

Chas Everitt advanced its global standing as CEO Berry Everitt received LeadingRE’s Global Leadership Award for steering growth through the pandemic. The year introduced virtual agent services and single sign-on technology, while the Chas Academy continued modernising training with award-winning online development for agents.

2023 saw Chas Everitt win LeadingRE’s prestigious Vanguard Award for technological innovation, boosting recruitment and sales. The group also earned global recognition for excellence in luxury marketing and digital transformation, reinforcing its reputation as a tech-forward leader in real estate.

Chas Everitt celebrated top performers at a major national conference and expanded digital franchise tools to support growth across Southern Africa. CEO Berry Everitt received LeadingRE’s Chairman’s Service Award, highlighting the brand’s ongoing commitment to international expansion and network excellence.

In 2025, Chas Everitt expanded its African footprint with the launch of its first Zimbabwe franchise in Bulawayo. CEO Berry Everitt received the Global Ambassador Award for championing the group’s international vision. Continued advances in AI, data, and digital innovation further strengthened client and agent relationships worldwide. Chas Everitt International won Best Online Newsletter and received the Blogging Excellence award at the New Generation Awards.
