After late cold spells, spring has returned to South Africa and we can start to enjoy our favourite outdoor pursuits again. Heritage Month also invites us to honour what we inherited and choose what we will build together.

Our heritage lives in ubuntu, shared stories, faith, music, humour, hospitality and warm greetings. It stretches across Drakensberg peaks, Karoo plains, bushveld, winelands and the Wild Coast. It tastes of boerewors and chisa nyama, pap and chakalaka, potjiekos, vetkoek, samosas, bunny chow, bobotie, biltong, koeksisters and roosterkoek. The braai is our original social network. We celebrate the fact that long before WiFi, there was fire - a signal to gather and share stories, form friendships and make memories.
