At Chas Everitt International, we have an approach to property transactions that is fundamentally different from other real estate companies, which is to create enveloping experiences for our clients that are purpose-built around their individual stories, rather than expecting them to conform to any particular pattern or fit into a preconceived box.
We know that moving home is never a spur-of-the-moment decision. Behind every decision to buy, sell or rent a property lies a personal rationale as well as some level of trepidation about what the move may bring; what it will be like to live in a different place or a different kind of home, perhaps, or how the children will adapt to new schools, or whether now is even the right time to sell or buy.
And our leaders and property professionals are aligned in our belief that our
main job in serving our clients is to listen to those stories and understand the real purpose of each client’s desire to move, so that we can empower them to make the choices that are right for their families with clarity and confidence.
This people-first philosophy has underpinned our business since its founding 46 years ago, and it remains at the heart of our reputation as a trusted brand and reliable friend in real estate. It is also, I believe, what has enabled us to grow both sales and revenue by almost 20% over the past year, to become the third-biggest property company in SA in terms of both units sold and value of sales.
Our reputation is further strengthened by the in-depth knowledge of our property professionals and a growing international footprint. Later this month, for example, I will be attending the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® Symposium in Barcelona, where I will share a stage with world-renowned economist Marci Rossell and LeadingRE president and CEO Paul Boomsma as we discuss the future of real estate and what lies ahead for our industry.
I do not take such opportunities lightly, nor the relationships that our membership of LeadingRE has enabled us to build with a global network of the best minds in real estate. They are invaluable in an increasingly connected world, especially for clients whose property interests extend beyond South Africa's borders.
Meanwhile, we are embracing the technological advances reshaping our industry. From smarter FICA compliance systems to new ways of connecting buyers and sellers with the right properties, we are continuously innovating to automate the administrative tasks and remove the friction points in real estate transactions, so that our agents have more time to spend with clients.
It’s important to note here that we do not see technology ever becoming a substitute for the judgement, experience and empathy of a trusted property professional, but that we recognise its great value in enabling us to deliver on our promise to keep learning, evolving and raising the standard of service we provide.
At Chas Everitt, we are proud of our history and excited about what lies ahead. Most importantly, though, we recognise that our reputation is something we must earn every day, through the trust our clients place in us and the genuine care with which we help them make their next move.
