What commission does an estate agent charge?

Category Landlord Information

Every Chas Everitt Franchise is independently owned and operated so commissions may vary from area to area.

Generally you will grant your Chas Everitt Rental Specialist one of two mandates:

  1. A procurement mandate: this is where your agent will find you a tenant, do the necessary application and vetting, draft and get the rental agreement signed, collect the first months rent and the deposit and pay these over to you. A once off procurement commission will be charged and deducted of the first month's rent that is collected. Hereafter the lease is fully managed by the owner along with the responsibility to comply with all legislative requirements.

  2. In addition to a procurement mandate, you may choose to grant your Chas Everitt Rental Specialist a management mandate as well. This means we do all the initial steps as described above and, after conclusion of the lease agreement, we fully manage the lease for the full duration of the lease agreement. This means we collect monthly rental, pay vendors on your behalf, attend to tenant queries and complaints, attend to repairs and maintenance issues and much more. For this we will charge a monthly management commission that will be deducted off the monthly commission paid by the tenant.
