Big Bay is also surrounded by a wealth of indigenous flowers and Cape Fynbos that was retained after the development in the area and is well preserved.

Shopping centres in Big Bay and the surrounding areas nclude the likes of the Eden on the Bay Mall, Seaside Village Centre, the West Coast Village and the Bayside Shopping Centre. The area also offers an abundance of restaurants, cafes and coffee shops.
