Pinelands neighbouring suburb of Thornton is situated between Pinelands and Goodwood, very close to the Grand West Casino. There are approximately 1500 free standing Thornton houses with an average plot size of 700 square metres. In the Sectional Title segment of Thornton there are some six secure townhouse complexes and eight apartment buildings. Thornton is very popular amongst younger people who are buying their first homes because the homes are much more affordable than many of the surrounding areas. One can expect to pay around R 1 300 000 to R1 400 000 for a three bedroom, two bathroom, double garage and pool.  Thornton also boasts a Primary School, a small shopping centre and a service station. This suburb is conveniently situated for those who work in Epping, CBD and Old Mutual.
