SHOWING AREA PROFILE 1 OF 1

Midvaal at a glance

The Midvaal region is positioned as part of the Sedibeng District Municipality.

Midvaal is the smallest of the 3 Sedibeng municipalities when it comes to population and the biggest when it comes to actual physical size.

The Midvaal region was formerly known as part of the Meyerton Municipality until late 2000.

Midvaal property is made up in the main of semi-rural and rural areas together with a large amount of smallholdings, plots and farms as well as more traditional housing and sectional title style properties in the towns.

The setting up of the R59 “industrial corridor” has been a great aid in developing the area’s industrial components and a number of larger industrial concerns have made the move as a result of this.

Midvaal as an area also holds interest from a tourism perspective with its great climate, closeness to the Vaal Dam, Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, the Vaal Marina area and (scuba divers favourite) Bass Lake allows for scope on the sport and outdoor entertainment front.

The Midvaal Raceway in Meyerton Midvaal is also proving a popular favourite with track day racing enthusiasts.
