FROM BERRY EVERITT

While we can't ignore the industrial action now taking place around the country, or its effects, we at Chas Everitt International have decided to rather focus on the future and the economic recovery that is slowly but steadily gaining momentum.

To this end, we are in the process of opening several new outlets around the country, the latest being the Bloemfontein office which will anchor our growing presence in the Free State. We have also opened a second office in East London this year and a new office in Benoni.
In addition, top-performing agents and independent estate agency principals have really taken to our new Notebook licensing concept and we have signed up a total of 17 operators the past six months.

The latest Notebook licences issued include Bethlehem and Clarens, also in the Free State, as well as Hilton in KZN and Mayfair, Walkerville and Heidelburg in Gauteng. We also have operators "flying the flag" in the Paarl/ Winelands area of the Western Cape, in Montagu and McGregor, and in Brits, Rustenburg and Witbank.

Meanwhile, we are very proud of the fact that two of the top-performing agents in our group, Paul and Roz Everitt, have been nominated for the 2010 Property Professional of the Year award. This award is SA's only independent, inter-company award, where real estate professionals receive recognition from their peers across the industry, and it is an honour to be among the finalists.

So we have much to feel good about, and that is being reinforced by the fact that Spring is in the air and as usual is bringing with it a more positive mood that augurs well for the property market in the coming months.
