Trade bureau will also benefit property sellers
Market exposure of South African products and services will be greatly enhanced when the Absa International Trade Bureau (AITB) at the Johannesburg International Airport opens it doors early next year.
And Chas Everitt International has taken the initiative to extend this exposure to residential property - as the only local property group to date to secure permanent exhibition space in the bureau.
Barry Davies, Chas Everitt Franchising CEO, noted at the recent AITB opening ceremony that the bureau is expected to draw thousands of foreign and business travellers a month. "Last year a total of about 15-million travellers, of which an estimated 1,2-million were on business, passed through the airport.
"The trade bureau will provide an excellent shop window to these travellers and will once again broaden the market exposure that Chas Everitt International is able to offer property sellers."
The multi-million rand AITB will be located close to the airport's international arrivals terminal and is expected to be completed by February next year. Facilities will include permanent exhibition stands, a library and information desk, refreshment areas, meeting rooms and offices. It will also be within walking distance of the five-star Airport Sun, where additional conference facilities are available.
The AITB initiative is a partnership between the Airports Company of South Africa, the National African Federated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Nafcoc) Gauteng and the International Trade Bureau. It is widely seen as a powerful new tool to enhance trade and investment.
