Press Release - 16 August 2007

Wentzel joins Chas Everitt

High-profile property specialist Gary Wentzel has been appointed sales manager at Chas Everitt International's Northern Suburbs office in Cape Town.

Wentzel, who has spent the past three and a half years as head of operations at Sotheby's head office, took up his new position on 1 August and will play a prominent part in the expansion plans of the Northern Suburbs franchise.

Franchise owner Charl Louw says Wentzel has joined at an opportune time. "I look forward to having Gary as part of our team. His background, experience and knowledge is vital in our strategy to take Chas Everitt Northern Suburbs to the next level.

"We have established a strong infrastructure and have seen great sales successes and growth over the past three years. With the opportunities in the current marketplace - including areas that we plan to explore - his focus on sales, marketing and recruitment will ensure renewed impact from the Chas Everitt property group."

Wentzel started his career in the banking industry. Later he moved into sales and held positions as sales executive and key accounts executive at diverse companies before managing his own small property company in Hermanus.

From 1996 to 2001 he held the position of national sales manager in the tourism division of a Cape Town publishing house before being appointed general manager at Seeff Atlantic Seaboard where he managed four of the company's Cape Town offices.

He was headhunted by Sotheby's International Realty SA, where he was, among other things, responsible for training and motivating all new franchisees, managers and national agents. He also has wide experience in dispute resolution and headed up the company's national recruitment programme.
