Top property man for Chas Everitt in KZN

Barney Fleiser has taken over as MD of the Chas Everitt International
operation in KZN

Gauteng real estate dynamo Barney Fleiser, one of the most successful franchisees in the Chas Everitt International property group, has now spread his wings to KwaZulu-Natal and acquired a major shareholding in the consortium that owns the group's local offices.

With immediate effect, he has taken over as MD of the Chas Everitt International franchises in Berea, Ballito, Umhlanga and the Bluff and set his sights on growing the brand in the province.

"The main focus at the moment is to recruit quality agents and train them in the group's proven way of doing business. And as soon as we have consolidated our presence in the areas served by the existing offices, we plan to expand further along the South Coast. We envisage opening offices in Margate and Amanzimtoti in the first quarter of next year."

Fleiser notes that he will retain his interests in the Chas Everitt International offices in Bedfordview and Kempton Park in Gauteng.

Under his management the Bedfordview office attained the second highest turnover of all offices in the group during the past 12 months.

Fleiser joined the real estate industry in 1995 when he joined Chas Everitt' s Bedfordview office after having run his own business for 10 years. It was an auspicious start - he was named the group's rookie of the year.

He quickly proved his worth and was appointed manager of the office before forming a partnership and buying the franchise in 1998. The partners added the Kempton Park franchise to their operation in 2004. He is currently serving as the Chas Everitt International regional chairman for Gauteng.

However Fleiser, who was born and bred in Durban, says he relishes the opportunity to develop the group's brand in KZN. "In a sense, it is a homecoming and I embrace the challenge to build the brand's presence and penetration in the province to the same level the company currently enjoys
in Gauteng."

He took up his new position at the beginning of September. He is married with two children and his family will relocate to Umhlanga at the end of the academic year.
