Technology transforms property sales
25 April 2006

A landmark franchising deal just concluded by leading property group Chas Everitt International will result in the rebranding of all eight estate agency offices currently operated on the Cape West Coast by attorney firm Swemmer and Levin.

The wholesale conversion of these offices to the Chas Everitt International brand is a coup for the group and will immediately make it the market leader in the increasingly popular area, says Chas Everitt Franchising CEO Barry Davies.

Kobus Potgieter, the director of Swemmer and Levin’s estate agency operations, says the law firm, established in 1918, began opening estate agencies in 2001.

“Then about a year ago, we decided to join a national property group and began looking for one that would be a good ‘fit’. We decided to join Chas Everitt because, as a law firm, we were impressed with the ethics espoused by the group. Its structure and the emphasis on family values were two other crucial factors in our decision,” he says.

The eight new Chas Everitt International offices include two in Langebaan and one each in Saldanha, Jacobsbaai, Vredenburg, St Helena Bay, Velddrif-Laaiplek and a part-time office in Paternoster. More than 20 agents are currently deployed by these offices.

Potgieter says another Chas Everitt West Coast office will be opened soon in Hopefield and that negotiations are under way to establish a 10th outlet in the Swartland to serve the Malmesbury and Moorreesburg communities.
